Honey Recipe: Rum Hot Toddy

I was too busy to get sick in August, so by the grace of God, I didn’t get sick until September 1st. Just as well, we all get sick from time to time and at least it fits into my schedule.

Nonetheless, being sick sucks! I’m taking all of the modern medication science has to offer but at night a nice Hot Toddy really hits the spot.

Of course there are plenty of debates (and studies) in both directions on whether a Hot Toddy does anything more than hot tea would alone. Let me put your mind at ease… IT DOESN’T MATTER! This Hot Toddy is delicious and helps me sleep. If it did anymore, it would be a superhero in the Marvel Universe.

So the next time you find your head congested and feel like something that was scraped off the bottom of a pigs foot, then try this little magical elixir of life.

Ingredients

  • Earl Grey Tea
  • 1 1/2 cups of hot water
  • 2 squirts of lemon concentrate (about 1/8 teaspoon)
  • 3 teaspoons of honey
  • 1 to 1 1/2 oz spiced rum

  2. That toddy sounds really yummy actually! And it’s very healthy without processed sugar (if we conveniently ignore the rum :-)). Get well soon!
